Tourism is gradually returning to Syria, and with it, hotels, hostels, guesthouses, and traditional homestays are welcoming more travelers again. While many accommodations have been operating for years, they are now experiencing a renewed interest from international visitors as tourism slowly picks up. Facilities and services continue to improve as the tourism sector develops, and travelers will find a wider range of accommodation options than they might expect.
Unlike in most destinations, accommodation in Syria is generally not available on major booking platforms such as Booking.com, Airbnb, or Expedia. The easiest and most reliable way to reserve a hotel or guesthouse is to contact the owner directly via WhatsApp or by phone.
In this guide, we've compiled recommended hotels, hostels, and guesthouses across Syria, including accommodation in Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Hama, Latakia, Tartus, Palmyra, Maaloula, Idlib, Raqqa, and Deir ez-Zor. Whenever possible, we've included useful information such as prices, Wi-Fi availability, 24-hour electricity, parking, hot water, and direct contact details to help you plan your stay.
Accommodation prices and facilities can change quickly as tourism continues to recover. We do our best to keep this guide up to date, but if you notice that a price or contact detail is no longer accurate, please let us know: we'll be happy to update it so future travelers can benefit from the latest information.
If you're planning a trip to Syria, don't miss our complete Syria Travel Guide, where we cover visa requirements, border crossings, transportation, money, internet access, safety, itineraries, and everything else you need to know before visiting Syria.

Monastery of Saint Thekla - Silvia
- If you’re looking for a place to stay, the Monastery of Saint Sergios & Bacchus has recently started hosting travelers. They’ve built several new rooms equipped with hot water, electricity, and reportedly internet (though I didn’t test it myself). The views over the town are absolutely stunning.
